Government this morning released a list of evacuation centres for the Northern Division.
It was released on the Fijian Government Facebook page.
Authorities are urging members of the public to be prepared to evacuate if they live in a storm surge risk area.
National Disaster Management Office director Vasiti Soko said people to should seek shelter now if they think their homes are not safe.
Given the the severity of TC Yasa, Fijians should not take any risks.
According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, Category 5 Severe Tropical Cyclone YASA was estimated to be located about 550 km northwest of Nadi near latitude 14.8S longitude 173.1E at 6am this morning.
“Currently the cyclone is almost stationary.
“Later today we expect the cyclone to begin moving in a general southeasterly direction. Until it begins to move the precise detail of expected impacts in Fiji will remain subject to change,” Fiji Met said.
