Minister for Youth and Sports Parveen Bala, yesterday was in Ra visiting the family who lost their three-month-old son Cyclone Yasa last Thursday.

The incident took place last Thursday at Vunikavikaloa Arya Primary School in Ra when a wall partition fell on mother, Iliseva Tinai and her late son, Timoci Tiqara.

Mr Bala donated food to the family while visiting their home that was blown away by Cyclone Yasa.

He said he would make sure to get his team to revisit with supplies like mattresses and beddings.

Ms Tinai said she was grateful for the kind gesture as both she and her husband Simone Drole were unemployed.

“Not only have we lost both our children this year, but we also lost our house,” she said.

“We are very grateful to Mr Bala for taking the time out to come and visit us.”

She added funeral arrangements were yet to be finalised as they were awaiting post-mortem examination results
