Exams Rescheduled To Next Tuesday And Wednesday

The remaining exams for Year 12 and Year 13 students which were postponed last week Thursday and Friday have been rescheduled to Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
The confirmation was made by the Permanent Secretary for Education, Anjeela Jokhan, yesterday.
All students are advised to appear for exams at their designated schools on the respective dates.
The exam timetables will be posted on the ministry’s website and social media page.
Ms Jokhan said those who do not sit for the exams would be awarded marks based on their performance throughout the year.
Minister for Education Rosy Akbar is currently touring the North and has noted extensive damage to 28 schools both in the North and in nearby maritime areas.
“We want to give students the option because many have been studying very hard and would like to sit for exams at the same time not disadvantaging those who have been traumatised,” Ms Jokhan said.
Adding that counselling support would be given to students severely affected by the cyclone.
Parents and guardians are advised to direct all enquiries to the Principal Education Officer, Yogesh Krishna, on 8913149 or the head of National Education Service Delivery, Timoci Bure, on 8909614.
Students are also advised to expect a delay in the delivery of exam results because of the disruption in transportation of exam papers from the North and maritime islands.
