Since Saturday members of the Fiji Sevashram Sangha have been cooking and distributing hot meals to those affected by Cyclone Yasa.

This is part of their first phase of relief operations in the Northern Division.

So far they have served more than 400 hot meals to people in Seaqaqa, Bua, Lekutu and Nasarawaqa.

They are calling out to Fijians to come forward and assist in the aftermath of Cyclone Yasa.

“As part of its first phase of relief operations, the Sangha intends to, in the next few days, distribute cooked food to families in the evacuation centres and distribute grocery ration packs to families still in their house from its Suva Ashram,” a Fiji Sevashram Sangha statement said.

“The communities at large are requested to contribute to the relief operations by donating groceries and dropping in the extras they have at home (clothes, food and water) at the Suva Ashram for distribution.”

The Sangha is making all efforts to reach out to affected families as soon as possible.
