Fijians are resilient and are already taking the first steps to rebuild their lives.

Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said this while visiting some of the affected communities.

He said it was quite incredible to see a lot of people displaying a lot of resilience as people have started saying they would be rebuilding their houses.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said they were also concerned about the damages done on the agricultural farms as different people had different needs.

Meanwhile Tui Bua,Ratu Suliasi Matavesi 84, was thankful to the Fijian Government for being the first to visit them after Cyclone Yasa.

When the strong winds struck last Thursday, Ratu Suliasi said his wife and two children helped him to take cover under the floor of their house.

He said he had lived long enough and been through more than 10 cyclones but none compared to the Cyclone Yasa.
