I have lost everything this year, says Jiten Chand Sharma.

The 29-year-old who had lost his job in March because of COVID-19 has now lost his home to Cyclone Yasa.

Mr Sharma said that he had just built his house three years ago and now it’s all gone.

“My years of hard work has been destroyed,” he said.

He was a former employee of Kashmir Transport Ltd.

He said with the saving he had and the money he had been getting from the National Provident Fund relief package, he was able to buy some school stationery for his children in preparation for next year.

And now it was all gone.

“I don’t know how and when I will be able to build my house again,” he said.

He has three children, one is attending Saint Mary’s Primary School and two younger ones.

Mr Sharma is from Vunivau in Labasa.
