Relief Boxes for Victims

Five hundred families hit hard by cyclone Yasa in Vanua Levu will receive a box containing $200 worth of relief items from Vodafone Fiji soon.
Yesterday, close to 300 volunteers in Valelevu, Nasinu, gathered in numbers to pack relief boxes that are bound for Vanua Levu today.
Vodafone Fiji Head of eCommerce and Corporate Affairs Shailendra Prasad said they had invested at least $100,000 on items that were in great need by families affected by the storm.
“We have always been people-centered and we have always wanted to be the first respondents to natural disasters,” Mr Prasad said.
“So we were very quickly to put together a team and we decided to do something for the islands that were affected,” he said.
He also commended the many volunteers who turned up in numbers to help them pack the relief boxes.
“We are leaving tonight and arriving tomorrow morning and we will be distributing the stuff to those we see will really need our relief boxes, starting from Bua,” he said.
“We want to show our families that have been affected that we are there to share their pain. After we distribute all these boxes we will see what more we can do to assist.”
