EFL Progresses With Power Restoration Around Fiji

This is an update on the restoration of Power Supply around Fiji after Tropical Cyclone Yasa passed through the Fiji Group on Thursday 17th & Friday 18th December, 2020.
The EFL sincerely apologizes to all our valued customers who are yet to power supply as restoration requires every metre of the power line to be physically inspected, repaired where required, before it can be energised.
Whilst this process is time consuming, it is none-the less critical to ensure the safety and security of power supply.
Hope the following is sufficient information for your purposes.
The EFL Cyclone Action Plan lists down the priority areas for restoration of power supply following a cyclone event as follows:
- Major Hospitals & Health Centres
- Water Pumping Stations, Water & Sewerage Treatment Plants (WAF)
- Central Business Districts, Commercial & Industrial Areas
- Residential Areas
Every effort is made by Action Centre Team Leaders to ensure that items 1 and 2 above are clearly identified and programmed for priority action.
The EFL wishes to remind the public to treat all broken power lines as live and to exercise appropriate precaution by staying away and keeping others away from all broken power lines.
Do not touch any EFL Line on the ground.
