Dux Achieves Long Term Goal

Seven years ago, while still in year one, Sheeraani Azmi Nisha made it a personal goal to be the Dux in her final years of primary school.
This came to fruition this week, when she was awarded the Dux of Maigania Muslim Primary School in Nadi.
It was a proud moment for the 13-year-old, especially for her proud parents and only sister.
Apart from getting the top achiever award, Sheeraani Nisha also scooped the first prize, overall highest in English, Social Science, Urdu and Healthy Living.
“My older sister had set the benchmark for me when she became the dux in both primary and college and that motivated me to work harder and be like her,” she said.
“My parents were the biggest motivation in my journey and my teachers were the backbone.
“There were challenges this year because of the lockdown. And for a few months, we were away from school, but I was always keeping myself busy with school activities that I was given by my teachers.”
She said anything was possible for any child if they pay attention to their parents and did whatever was required to them by their teachers.
She said with motivation, determination and discipline anything could be achievable in life.
Sheeraani said apart from being an attentive listener in the classroom, she also loved playing rugby, soccer, volleyball and netball.
She acknowledged the support of her parents, sister and teachers who made it possible for her to achieve her long time goal.
