Swimmers Try To Qualify

The swimmers will need to meet the FINA A and B Qualifying Time Standards.

The Long Course Open Nationals started yesterday at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre.

The event is sanctioned by swimming world governing body FINA which in turn provides an a opportunity for our eight swimmers to qualify on merit to 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The swimmers will need to meet the FINA A and B Qualifying Time Standards.

The eight swimmers vying for the universality spot are Taichi Vakasama, Epeli Rabua, Netani Ross, Temafa

Yalimaiwai, Moana Wind, Matelita Buadromo, Cheyanne Rova, and Yolani Blake.

Fiji Swimming operations manager Trisa Dunn said as of yesterday, none has qualified.

“Maybe Wednesday that’s our final day,”Dunn said
