God, Family, Sponsors, Backbone Of Suva Success In 2020: Tawake

The Ram Sami Suva rugby team held its annual awards night on Tuesday at the Albert Park Pavilion.
And awarded, were six of Suva’s best and most hardworking players throughout the 2020 Skipper Cup Premiership tournament.
These players included captain, John Stewart, vice-captain, James Brown and debutant and rising star Taniela Sadrugu.
The players and officials shared their $20,000 prize-money and bonus cheques handed in by various sponsors.
The president of Suva Rugby Union, Commander Captain (Navy) Humphrey Tawake, thanked the sponsors and families for their unmatched support throughout the season.

“I think its worthy of all of us to be thankful for the grace of the Almighty for this year,” he said.
“Despite whatever we do, we owe what we do to the Almighty, how little or how big.”
He also acknowledged the support of Ram Sami, Tau Sports, Foodcity and Digicel.
“Without your huge support that you have done, have been a blessing to all of us,”he said.
“Thank you sincerely for you generosity.
“Thank you to all our families that are here, our children, without your support we would not be here celebrating the success of Suva Rugby Union.
“We owe you a lot, your support from home, from the little that you do, has a huge impact on the performance of the players on the ground.
“Winning the Skipper Cup for three years in a row, I think Suva has not done it before, and we are all happy about that.”
SRU secretary Tevita Tuiloa added: “The key has been our club competitions and we thank Digicel who has come on board to support our games this year. That really laid the platform for Suva defending the Skipper Cup this year.”
