Lawsuit Filed Against SODELPA Executives

A lawsuit was filed at the Lautoka High Court yesterday against six SODELPA executives.

The case is against SODELPA president Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, the three vice presidents Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, Ro Teimumu Kepa, George Shiu Raj, general secretary Emele Duituturaga and the assistant general secretary Lenaitasi Duru.

It is understood that the plaintiff is Taitusi Rasoki a SODELPA member from the Western Division.

Ms Duituturaga confirmed the lawsuit which alleges they breached the party Constitution while conducting party affairs from the time the party was suspended on May 26, 2020, to the management board meetings and other party matters thereafter.

“I confirm that the Party has been served with legal papers relating to a civil action filed in the Lautoka High Court. The matter is now in court and so I have no further comments,” she said.
