Police On Patrol In Holidays

Police will be in work mode not holiday mode said Fiji Police Forces Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner Abdul Khan.
Our officers in blue will be ensuring that law and order is maintained this festive season.
The Police Force continues their holiday operations which started on December 1, 2020.
ACP Khan said there had been a decrease in crime.
He said the focus was on traffic, drugs and community policing.
City awareness
Police received a report of a grab and run where a woman lost her bag. Mr Khan said people should be vigilant when in the city.
He said he hoped people would take heed of safety tips offered by the Police.
He also urged members of the public to work with the Police.
“We will have more uniformed Police officers around the city to have more visibility. We are out here in numbers to ensure that there is a conducive environment for everyone.”
Narcotics Operations
ACP Khan said the Police intensified their narcotics operation in 2020.
He said Kadavu was not the only focus. He said Police have made major seizures of narcotics in other parts of Fiji as well. He said narcotics operations were carried out nationwide.
He said Police seized narcotics in Serua three days ago and have continued to catch carriers and cargo coming into Suva from the islands.
A warning was issued to drug peddlers, carriers and cultivators by Mr Khan. He said once the Police catch onto them, they would be taken to task.
