It was a traditional and cultural New Year’s Day for many Fijian Hindus.
Hindu devotees around the country visited temples seeking blessings from God and Pundits as they began 2021 on a positive note.

She said this year was no different for her and her family as they prayed for the victims and families who suffered losses during the onslaught of Tropical Cyclone Yasa and for a better 2021 for everyone in Fiji.
Ms Prasad said she also prayed that the world would become sickness free so families could reunite again.
Temple Pundit Vijendra Mishra said every New Year’s Day, people would come to the temple and pray for their year to be prosperous and peaceful.
“It shows that people are devoted to their religion and their culture.
