Rewa Football Association local league champions are all set for the National Club Championships (NCC) next week.

Kasavu’s 4-0 win over Nakasi Police in the final earned them the title three years in-a- row.

Rewa reps in the team are Simione Tamanisau, brothers Bruce and Setareki Hughes, Anish Khem, Gabiriele Matanisiga, Peniame Drova, and Kavaia Rawaqa.

Coach, Mohammed Nizmul (Niju) Shah, said they are looking forward to the NCC comp since it was cancelled last year.

Shah has been coaching the team for the past two years.

“We are 100 per cent confident  that we will  a win,” he said.

“Preparations will start proper this week as the boys are out for the New Year break.”

He indicated that the team was well looked after by the President of Kasavu club, Mohammed Sharif, who resides in Sydney, Australia.

“This is one of Fiji’s expensive club, it is sponsored by Kasam Hangers.

“Team members were distributed $4000.00 for their Christmas and New Year celebration.”

Kasavu is the second oldest club in the Rewa FC.

Fiji Football Association, chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the three- day tournament will be held at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, on January 8-10.

“The fixtures will be sent out tomorrow. The semifinals and final venue will depend on the teams that qualify. So it will be confirmed after the pool rounds.”
