When the Fijians in the Bristol Bears side dominated the game against Newcastle Falcons another Fijian star stood tall against them.

Falcon’s new find in the form of another Fijian star George Wacokecoke.

At centre Wacokecoke is an England Students international who originally combined his rugby at Newcastle Falcons with his studies at Northumbria University before graduating in the summer of 2019 He formed part of the Falcons squad which reached the final of the 2017 Premiership 7s, featured for the Falcons team which reached the A-League final and made his first team debut in the Premiership game at Gloucester in May 2019.

At 25 the Suva born centre could force his way into the England rugby team if he is consistent throughout this season.

Premiership’s George Wacokecoke embarrasses Bristol defence on scintillating league debut

George Wacokecoke might not be a name that you’ve heard before. You certainly will have heard it after his performance Saturday in the Gallagher Premiership.

The English centre has played a starring role in Newcastle Falcons stunning start to this season and made his full Premiership debut today against Bristol.

It’s not often you see a player make such an impact on his first league start.

Bristol took less than a minute to open their try-scoring account in the new year with a try after just 49 seconds.

We see as Wales star, Callum Sheedy, intercepts a pass in open play before speeding away and almost going the distance himself before popping it onto Siva Naulago to score under the posts.

Bristol went into the first half with a 14-7 lead with another score from England back-rower Nathan Hughes.

He has been dominating in recent seasons with Newcastle as you can see in his highlights montage below.

Another Fijian star is making his name in the Gallagher Premisership League and it is only a matter of time when the English rugby team notice Wacokecoke.

With number of Fijian players playing in the league there is no doubt selections will be tough for Flying Fijians head coach Vern Cotter and his coaching staff.

Let us hope that Wacokecoke wont be snatched by the English rugby team.
