Good Samaritan Donates Money And Stationery

My granddaughter can now enjoy going to school.
This was said by Pahar Bati, 66, who was seen begging on the streets of Nadi for her grandchildren’s stationery.
She will no longer have to beg now after she was assisted by the managing director for Fantasy Island Fiji, Abbas Ali.
Mr Ali was made aware of the situation when he read the Fiji Sun article on December 29 titled: ‘Grandmother turns to begging to help Grandchildren return to school.’
Mr Ali commended Fiji Sun for bringing the plight of a young schoolgirl and the grandmother to the general public.
“I believe there are so many out there who need support in these trying times. The despair on the girl’s face in the paper speaks much more than the story. I want to include my company on the list of contributors for the pair,” he said.
Year two students of Sabeto Muslim Primary School, Shanaya was overjoyed to receive her stationery.
Her grandmother Ms Bati, who will turn 67 this month was filled with relief and emotion after she was handed more than $200 cash with school stationery, uniforms, and footwear for her four primary school grandchildren.
“This is a great early present for me. I can see my granddaughter go to school. It is a big sigh of relief as I was contemplating who would assist us,” Ms Bati said.
“I wish to thank the owner of Fantasy Island Fiji for coming to answer our prayers when we were in need.
“This gesture augurs well as we value education.”
