Fiji FA House along Gladstone Road in Suva will have a new face look as it undergoes a $1.3 million renovation work.

Chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the long overdue upgrade works was to renovate the entire structure to make it modern.

“Construction stated in August 2020 and it will have a modern outlook with new tiles, new kitchen and convenience facilities,” Mr Yusuf said.

“This renovation works was expected to be completed December 2020, but there was some delay on the Government’s own interior makeover,” he said.

There is a plan to extend the four floors towards Williamson Road to allow more office space with modern design and facilities, he said.

“We are proud to renovate this as part of our plan to keep our properties modern and user friendly.”

Two Government Ministries are current tenants at Fiji FA House. Renovation works are carried out by Permal Construction Pte Ltd. Fiji FA House is owned by the Fiji Football Association, the official governing body of the sport of football in Fiji.In 1976, the late FIFA President Dr Joao Havelange and secretary Dr Helmur Kaiser made their first official visit to Fiji.

As a result of the visit by FIFA officials, inaugural FIFA development project took place in Fiji June 1977. The construction of the Fiji FA House in Suva was part of this development.
