Commuters, drivers and bystanders stood at the edge of a slope at Suva’s Waimanu Road and Borron Road junction where a vehicle had ended up.

The black Toyota Camry with three people inside allegedly took an unexpected turn and went down the slope. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was travelling up Waimanu Road towards the hospital from Samabula.

They said it veered off the junction at Borron Road and took a dive down the nearby hill.

Bystanders and commuters stopped to offer help causing traffic holdups around the accident scene Police were also quick to the scene as were the firefighters.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital and admitted while the other two have been sent home. Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said they would be investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
