Works Being Done To Reduce Water Disruptions: Authority

Residents living in Nausori have taken heed on the need to store up water before disruptions made through Water Authority of Fiji’s (WAF) repair works.

The authority confirms that more infrastructure upgrades have been done to reduce the number of water disruptions in the Suva-Nausori corridor.

The planned works are to allow its contractors to carry out connection works on the new DICL 600mm to the existing 450mm mPVC water main near the Rewa Bridge.

The authority assured its customers that their workers are operating as quickly as possible to alleviate such issues in the future.

Since Friday night, customers living in the entire Rewa Delta, Tailevu South, and Nausori Town till Baulevu have since experienced either low water pressure or no water at all.

Alumita Seva of Dilkusha Road said: “We have stored up water well before time that would last us for the duration of the repair works. Hopefully the pressure is back to normal by the end of this weekend and we don’t have any more water disruptions after all repair works are done.”

The authority said the supply of water would be progressively restored to affected areas from 5pm yesterday.
