Sekove Thanks Aunt For Buying School Uniform

All I could think about was staying alive, says Sekove Malumu.
The nine-year-old of Tavulomo, Dama in Bua recalled the devastation that took away their family home and everything they owned.
He said his family sheltered under the floor of a house when Cyclone Yasa struck the village.
Sekove and his family currently live in a tent.
The eldest of four children was worried that he might not wear a school uniform next week.
His prayers were answered when his aunt Seokaveti Kaususu who lives in Seaqaqa offered to buy their school uniform.
To brighten his day, Ms Kaususu then said that another of his uncle would be buying the children’s stationery.
He was glad that his aunt joined them for Christmas and found out that they had lost everything.
Sekove is optimistic as he looks forward to another school year.
He wants to become a Police officer when he grows up.
