This week Joyce Aviation had two private jets at Nadi International Airport.

Under the leadership of its owner, Tim Joyce, the crew at Sunflower Aviation under Fixed Based Operations facilitate non-scheduled private and corporate jets.

The Fixed Based Operations offers everything from Customs clearance to refuelling and provisioning while operating from its spacious private hangar.

It is understood that the jets were privately chartered by the Australian Corporate Jet Centres P/L…. aka ACJC.

It is also understood the flights arrived from the Gold Coast, Australia and Nuku’alofa, Tonga, on Monday, and both departed for Darwin yesterday.

The private jets were here to uplift passengers from Fiji.

Change in travel style

For Joyce Aviation, COVID-19 has really changed the travel style and the aviation industry as a whole.

With more emphasis on safety now, private jets are more likely to be a thing of the future.

Joyce Aviation have been fortunate to have facilitated international medevac retrieval flights, cargo flights and special charters.

The company says the continued support and co-operation from the border authorities has been fantastic in ensuring that it adheres to the new safety travel restrictions.

It has also given Joyce Aviation the opportunity to revise their standard operating procedures and train their team to be more safe and travel ready once borders are open and international travel resuming.

According to Joyce Aviation, with the additional COVID requirements, landing approvals now take longer than usual.

The landing permits is now subjected to the COVID requirements hence sending ground handling request/queries well in advance is advisable.

Joyce Aviation works in collaboration with the:

  • Fijian Government’s COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Taskforce (CRMT), Civil Aviation Authorities of Fiji, nHealth border officials,
  • Customs and
  • Biosecurity to ensure that they are kept abreast with the latest government COVID entry implementations for guests intending to travel to Fiji.
