Saru Dragons, Burenitu Cowboys and Namuaniwaqa Sea Eagles are among 24 teams vying for the main-prize in Nadroga/Navosa Rugby League (NNRL) 9s tournament.

The tournament will be held at Prince Charles Park, Nadi this Saturday.

Tournament organiser Selai Domolailai said: “ A total of 24 men and 6 women teams will take part.”

She added the women’s tournament wss organised in conjunction with the Kaiviti Silktails Club with an aim to encourage more women participation in the game.

The six teams include Nadroga Broncos, Navosa Tigers, Nasinu Panthers, Suva Storm, Lautoka Knights and Nadi Raiders.

“Fans will be in for a treat this weekend as 300 players from Viti Levu will take part,” she said.

Prize-purse $3000, runner up $2000, plate winner $1250, runner up $750, best player $250.

The event is sponsored by Blackstone  Group, Concreters Group and Rokosports.

Ticket prices for adults $4 and $2 kids. Gates will open at 8am.

 

Men: Pool A – Coastline Roos, Rabbitohs, Namoli West Tigers, USP Raiders, Supercool Vatukoro Titans, Nadi Eels.

Pool B: Sabeto 3, City Storm, Topline Warriors, Ystill Bluewaters, Vatutoko Titans, Vatunilumuni Magpie,

Pool C: Saru Dragons One, Namuaniwaqa Sea Eagles , Makoi Bulldogs, Korolevu Ruggers, Sabeto  Two, Nadi Eels Two,

Pool D: Burenitu Cowboys, Nadera Panthers, AFL Davuilevu Knights, Vusu Raiders, Sabeto One , Saru Dragons  Two.
