The Dominion Brothers 7s side will be the youngest side to play at the Super Seven Series this weekend.

Laced with some provincial players that played in the 2020 Skipper Cup competition the team consists of players from 23 years of age to 18.

Dubbed as the x-factor team by some rugby 7s pundit the side will use the tournament as a development phase as they looks set to take on the big guns.

The young side is in Pool D with Uluinakau, Army and Nawaka.

Speaking to Sun sports Coach Napolioni Rabale said the team wants to develop.

“It’s a very young side, most of these kids were just playing secondary school rugby last year,” he said.

“The interesting point here is that they have been playing in some big tournaments last year”.

“Some of the boys have already played in the Marist 7s, Savusavu 7s and even the Wairiki 7s.”

“In terms of fitness, most of the boys are seasoned players so the transition from 15’s to 7s is not a problem because they are used to it.”

“For us heading into the tournament we will go in as underdogs and at the same time work on developing these young team.”

Rabale added the team have been working on their set pieces.

“In sevens rugby possession and set pieces is very important, I have been reminding the boys to improve on that area.”

“We need to see that our rucks are secured, our scrums and lineouts are on the money and most importantly our passing.”

“Communication will be the key for us because we are fast and light what we don’t want to do is commit ourselves to the rucks.”

“Our executions against these big teams have to be good if we want to win and make it to the dying stages.”

“Doing the little things right really matters and at training we are trying so hard to do that.”

“Lastly we have to stay focused and discpline.”

“We have a very good pool, and the three teams are strong, so the plan now is to take one game at it comes.”
