30 Years Of Hard Work In Flames

Within a matter of minutes, 30 years of hard work were destroyed in a house fire in Labasa yesterday.
Bimla Wati of Rara Housing believed that it took only a spark from a power point for her three-bedroom abode to be ruined.
The 49-year-old mother of three children lived with her youngest son, Ronald Lal, 25, a bus driver.
“My son came from work and was having his shower when a power point sparked in one of the rooms,” Ms Wati claimed.
“I quickly ran out alarming my son and everyone in the neighbourhood.”
While standing under the rain looking at the remains of the house, she said she hoped to rebuild it.
They are currently being sheltered by a neighbour.
This is believed to be the first house fire in the Northern Division this year.
Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua says investigations into the incident are continuing.
