Navosa brothers Kavekini Tabu, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Isoa Tabu are going to play for Yamacia in the Fiji Rugby Union sanctioned Super 7s Series.

The Series first two-day tournament gets underway tomorrow at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

The brothers who are members of the Fijian 7s team are going to add power, pace and experience in the formidable Yamacia pack.

The club was established in 2016 and produced Olympian and France-based Semi Kunatani.

Team manager Issac Dakuitoga confirmed the brothers participation from the team’s camp in Sabeto, Nadi yesterday.

Yamacia are in the tournament’s pool of death where they face Jerry Tuwai’s FDS Barbarian Brothers, the unpredictable Ratu Filise side and Wardens who are expected to field Josua Vakurunabili and Asaeli Tuivuaka.

Dakuitoga said the release of the brothers from FRU was a blessing for the side.

“This was where they started their rugby career, they know the environment and the set-up we have,” he said.

“To have them play with us at the Super Series will boost the team especially when we have a young and developing side.

“The brothers will add depth to the team because they will share their sevens knowledge and understanding with their young team mates. This is really important to the team as a whole.”

Dakuitoga added that they had been preparing well for the past few months.

“Everyone had a tough 2020 with the pandemic so we had to readjust and adapt to the new norm,” he said.

“As soon as the lockdown was lifted we started training for any sevens  tournament.

“We have been training well and the boys are excited and ready for the tournament.

“It’s a series so we need to be fit, I believe that is one of the most important areas that we are working on.

“The interesting part of training is getting the new boys to adapt to the training environment we have here.”

“Otherwise our fitness is good and the boys have had their game time in some minor tournaments we had played in.”
