Team Crusoe Tours took out the 2nd annual Andy Haden Memorial Golf 2021 at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club on Saturday.

The team of Nitulesh Mail, Pranil Kumar, Mohammed Nawaz and Tomasi Tuivuna beat 22 other teams, finishing off with 122.75 net points.

Beaeded Lady was second with 124.65 pts and  Bank South Pacific third with 125.75 pts.

Tournament organiser Ajay Raniga said organising the event was to remember the late former All Blacks legend Andy Haden.

He played as a lock forward for Auckland and New Zealand from 1972 until 1985.

He has contributed a lot to the Fijian communities and Fijian Rugby.

“Haden was a great friend of Fiji and unfortunately he passed away last year. We have decided to organise the event in his memory,”Raniga said.

“He helped Fiji Rugby on the 100th anniversary when the Flying Fijians required some matches.

“Generally he was a great ambassador for Fiji and he loves coming here. He looked after kids in the villages. This is the little that we do to remember him. “

Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau who presented the awards said Fiji would always remember Haden.

The tournament was supported by Budget Pharmacy, Wella Pillay, Tappoos and Punjas Group of Companies.
