Black Virus made a winning start during the Labasa Football local league at Bocalevu Primary School on Sunday.

Comprising mostly Labasa reps, the team beat Police 5-0 while Habourlite Batinikama beat Wailevu 2-1.

Labasa Football Association president Riyaz Khan said 10 teams would take part in the local league.

“Some teams have requested for more time to get themselves organised so we have allowed them to join later this week,” Khan said.

“We are going to have the league every Sunday.”

Meanwhile, Champion vs Champion opening match between Labasa and Suva will be held at the ANZ Stadium on Friday.

“Our players are in good form and we have a good team,”Khan said.
