Bua Records First Typhoid Case

Bua Province in the Northern Division yesteday, recorded its first typhoid case post- Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

During the press conference at Macuata House in Labasa yesterday, Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima said: “As of today the total Leptospirosis, Typhoid, Dengue and Diarrhoea (LTDD) cases in the Northern Division post-TC Yasa is 15.

“Whole of Bua is marked as red zone and so the case is from one of the hot spot areas.”

He said a team was looking into the water and sanitation in the village where the case was recorded .

“We continue with our LTDD campaign with the Ministry of Health, stakeholders and partners assisting us in terms of water and sanitation,” he said.

“As of now, there is no outbreak or death related to LTDD in the North.”
