The Fiji Australia Business Council (FABC) yesterday presented a $10,000 cheque donation to the Katalyst Foundation Charitable Trust.

The cheque was handed over by the FABC vice president, Saud Minam, to the trustee of Katalyst Foundation, Rokoseru Nabalarua at the KPMG boardroom, Suva.

Mr Nabalarua said the donation would be used for the rehabilitation effort needed as a result of TC Yasa.
“It is highly likely that the donations will be channelled to the province of Bua as the communities were badly affected by TC Yasa,” he said.

“We have distributed food, so now we are trying to see if we can help particularly in the construction of a kindergarten building – one in particular we are planning to start next month which could also be used as an evacuation centre.

“We constructed one nearly two years ago and found that it withstood the cyclone really well, so that is most likely where this funding will go to.”
Mr Nabalarua said Katalyst Foundation Fiji was a charitable arm of the Lyndhurst Group of Companies along with Katalyst Foundation Australia.
