Company Support Boosts Naliva’s Preps

Fijian light heavyweight champion Savenaca “Lightning” Naliva’s preparation for his March 20 showdown against Eroni Ligaloa got a major boost on the weekend.
This was from Nadi based- company Al-Hamd Smart Living who have confirmed their support for Naliva.
The company donated $1000 to assist the 34-year-old boxer in his preparations.
Al-Hamd Smart Living managing director Ashfaq Khan said he has been closely following Naliva’s progress through his trainer Farmaan Ali.”
“Naliva is a very talented and disciplined boxer,” Khan said.
“I have decided to lend him some support to enable him grow further in his boxing career. This is a start off and I’m hoping to keep on supporting him.”
Naliva who has been unbeaten locally has won his last five fights.
Ever since turning pro in 2011, he has won 14 out of his 17 fights.
Ali said the assistance has been very timely.
“This will enable Naliva to focus on his preparations. We’re very thankful to Ashfaq for sponsoring Naliva,” he added.
The fight will be an undercard to the Fijian cruiserweight title fight between Alivereti Kauyaca and challenger Joseph Kwadjo.
The other title fight sees Suva’s Nathan ‘The Hornet’ Singh move up to lightweight to face Mulomulo slugger Ronald Naidu.
The programme will be staged at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
