Gareth McGrath has been a commendable force as the training delivery innovation manager at the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC). He comes with years of experience, wealth of knowledge and a drive for the future. Just like anyone else living in Fiji, Mr McGrath loves to travel with his family.

He enjoys the pleasure and tranquillity in the beauty Fiji has to offer. “I have been living in Fiji since 2012 and I am here with my family; my wife and two children,” he said. “I have been lucky to spend time throughout the region in Fiji, and across the Pacific in general.”

What Are Your hobbies?
Like a lot of other people, my favourite hobby is sports, particularly rugby. You know ‘Toso Viti Toso’ so I hope the Olympics is still taking place, and we can try and get another gold medal there.

How Many Places Have You Visited So Far In Fiji?
On the mainland, I have visited many places across the Coral Coast. Rakiraki has also been a really nice place to visit. I have been fortunate enough to visit the Yasawa Islands and the Mamanuca Islands.

What Is the one place you would take every visitor in Fiji and why?
That one place would be the Natadola Beach. It has got nice lovely golden white sand. I would encourage anyone to go.

What is your secret backyard spot?
It is probably Suva Point. Just at home, with my family – that’s the place I love being the most.

What is your favourite place in Fiji for a pie/coffee?
The Mad Hatter Hut Fiji would be it. It is located on 22 Disraeli Road, Suva. It has delicious food and a nice atmosphere within the place.

What is the one Fiji spot on the top of your bucket list?
The places I really want to go, and I can’t believe I haven’t been to are Labasa and the island of Kadavu. I would love to visit those places one day, and even be invited to the beautiful island of Rotuma someday.
