The next Beach Soccer tournament could be heading for Vanua Levu.

This was after Police White took out the Fiji Football Association’s Open Beach soccer tournament at the Fiji Sports Council beach facility in Suva over the weekend.

Police White with prominent district reps like Tevita Waranaivalu, Sairusi Nalaubu, Filipe Baravilala, Shahil Dave and Simione Tamanisau beat a strong Tailevu/Naitasiri side 4-2 in the final.

In the semi-finals, Police White walloped Shamrock 4-1 while Tailevu/Naitasiri beat Northland 1-0.

Police White thrashed Police Blue 7-2 in the quarterfinal. Shamrock upset Suva 4-3 while Tailevu/Naitasiri beat Tailevu North by a similar margin and Northland proved too strong for Labasa winning 3-1.

CvC deferred

Meanwhile, the Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion Series between Suva and Standard Hire Labasa has been postponed.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said due to the adverse weather condition the CvC series has been postponed.

“The weather forecast for the weekend is not favourable so we had no option but to postpone the series to next week,” said Yusuf.

“The first leg will take place next Friday and the second leg will be played next Sunday.”

Yusuf added the matches are currently scheduled for Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori but if the ANZ Stadium is available then the first leg will move to Suva.

Lavasa qualified for winning the 2020 Courts Interdistrict Championship while Suva hoisted the Vodafone Premier League title.

He also confirmed the Vodafone U19 Youth League final play-offs and Vodafone Senior Women’s League final play-offs have also been postponed.
