The Director NDMO Vasiti Soko has announced the revised curfew hours to take effect from tomorrow through to Monday morning.

For the Western Division, curfew will begin tomorrow from 12 midday and will end on Monday 4am.

Curfew in the Central, Northern and Eastern divisions will begin from 4pm tomorrow and also end at 4am on Monday morning.

Ms Soko said enough time is given to shop owners to open their shops for people to do last minute shopping tomorrow.

She also stated that the review of the curfew hours is a precautionary measure to protect people’s lives.

The emergency committee will convene a meeting on Sunday and any changes to the curfew hours will then be released.

Possible Tropical Cyclone Ana will make landfall and the center is expected to cross the Mamanuca Group at 5pm tomorrow.

By then Gale force winds will affect everyone except the Lau Group.

Once the center passes the Mamanuca’s it will cross over Nadi, exit Viti Levu in the Navua area and head towards Kadavu on Sunday morning.

She said the cyclone is expected to pass North East of Kadavu at 10am on Sunday before moving South.

“It is important to note that the uncertainty can go as far as Vanua Levu and South West of Fiji. Put simply, the eye of the cyclone can float within this radius,” Ms Soko said.

There are currently 33 evacuation centers active in the North with 1508 evacuees.

One evacuation center is open in the central division with 12 evacuees and 19 evacuation centers in the West with 505 evacuees.

Three evacuation centers are open in the Eastern division with 26 evacuees.

In total there are 56 active evacuation centers with 2051 evacuees.
