Ratu Sukuna Memorial School Gets Its First Female Principal

Miriama Naicegucegu has become Ratu Sukuna Memorial School’s first female principal – a first in the school’s 60-year history.
Ms Naicegucegu has served as principal at Yat Sen Secondary School, Ballantine Memorial School and vice principal at Lelean Memorial School.
Ms Naicegucegu was unreachable for comments. However, School Manager, Levi Raicola said he was thankful to the Ministry of Education for the timely appointment and their trust in Ms Naicegucegu.
“Our madam principal has a vast experience in the education field and I believe she has set a standard of excellence in each school she has served in,” he said.
“No doubt she has birthed a vision for the school year and will accomplish it with the help of staff and students,” Mr Raicola said.
“I believe our new principal is going to protect the welfare of the school and she will ensure students achieve academic excellence and also extra curricular activities.”
He said people should adapt to change and support the ministry no matter who they appointed to take up the role.
“Gender should not be an issue if people are not accepting of the ministry’s decision, it is people who have to learn how to adapt to change and accept it,” he said.
“I am honored to work under her leadership. We will give our full support to Ms Naicegucegu and we are optimistic for 2021.”
