Bus Operations In The North Resume Today

Bus operators in the Northern Division will resume operations today on accessible routes.

Dalip Chand & Son Limited director Rohinil Chand said flooding and landslides disrupted their services, especially to Savusavu.

He confirmed that they would provide full bus operations into town areas.

“We are trying our best to provide short runs. Once the roads are accessible, we can provide the normal operations as per the scheduled time. Despite the damages, we are ready to provide services to the public,” Mr Rohinil said.

Paramod Enterprise Limited director Edwin Chand said they also plan to start operations from today, depending on the road conditions.

He said trips from Bua and Seqaqa area were being diverted through the Naduri Coastal Road to Labasa – that is Nakorovou, Daria, Nasolo, Driti, Vatubogi, Naviqiri, Banikea, Dreketi, Seqaqa and Tabia.

“We anticipate that the flood at Soasoa and Lagalaga should recede so that normal operations to Lagalaga, Kilikoso, Visqo, Vanuavou, Sese, Vatukuca, Qaranivai, Coqeloa, Mateniwai, Raranikawai, Taganikula and Malau can take place,” Mr Edwin said.
