It’s Super Daddy- Senior British Diplomat Races For Charity

The British Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Paul Welsh donned his Superman costume and brought out his wheelbarrow to raise funds for children with disability at Albert Park yesterday.
The wheelbarrow race is part of the Frank Hilton Organisation’s (FHO) annual fundraiser that became virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Since it is a virtual race, you have to pledge money so that your virtual wheelbarrow moves around the map of Viti Levu and I want to raise at least $4800 to get around the whole island,” he said.
“I get to push people in the wheelbarrow for a distance of 10 metres and they donate any amount they want towards the cause.”
Mr Welsh did not shy away from the challenge as he was seen having fun pushing children and supporters in a wheelbarrow.
“We are raising money for the FHO who are providing amazing support for the disabled children, their families and the excellent staff,” Mr Welsh said.
“Some of these children don’t have families, they have been abandoned, some of them are profoundly disabled and they need our help to continue the amazing work they do.
“So far, I have raised $2000, the support has been wonderful and I look forward to the final lapse of what has been collected.”
