ATK Mohun Bagan, star striker Roy Krishna is betting on Labasa to win the Pillay Garment’s Champion versus Champion Series.

He made the comments after scoring twice for his club as they fought back to win 3-2 against Kerala Blasters during the Indian Super League (ISL) clash on Monday.

“I’m hoping for Labasa to win the CvC,” Krishna said.

“I think they (Labasa) are a good team. Even though Suva have got a stronger side, Labasa cannot be underestimated.

“Labasa have the extra drive to win the series especially for those who’ve lost so much during the recent disasters.

“My best wishes to both teams and I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting challenge between the two giants of Fiji football.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Football Association has rescheduled its calendar for the 2021 season.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said considering the aftermath of Tropical Cyclones Yasa and Ana, the board has decided to move the competitions backward.

“The Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion two-match series will now be played at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

“The first leg is on Friday, February 19 and second leg on Sunday, February 21,” said Yusuf.

“Subrail Park has sustained massive damages as well as Ratu Cakobau Park, so we have to move both legs to Suva.”

Yusuf said this would allow the Labasa football family to recover from the recent flooding.

“These three weeks will give Labasa time to recover and prepare for the championship,” he said.

Yusuf confirmed the Vodafone Premier League (VPL) will start on February 27.”

“The VPL will start on Saturday, February 27 between Ba and Labasa and on Sunday at Churchill Park, Lautoka will host Navua, Nadroga take on Nadi at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka while Rewa is scheduled to host Suva,” said Yusuf.

The Women’s Super League will also kickoff on the same weekend.

“The Women’s Super League will be played as curtainraisers at some of the VPL match venues.”

The launching of the Women’s Super League will be done on Saturday, February 20, in Suva.

“There will be no changes of the major tournament dates,” Yusuf confirmed.
