From humble beginnings in 2004, Arrow Concrete Pte Limited has grown from strength to strength.

The company was recently recognised under the Ministry of Commerce Trade Tourism and Transport Fijian Made initiative.

Arrow Concrete Pte Limited under the guidance of managing director Appal Raju along with late Anil Raju and six employees placed their sole focus on manufacturing precast products for use in the construction industry.

Today the Natabua, Lautoka based company employs more than 50 Fijians.

Since it first started the company has expanded in many ways from investment, location, clientele and also projects.

The company currently caters for the Fijian market, supplying products to businesses involved in earthworks, roadworks and construction.

Director Ashwin Raju said the company aimed to localise construction value chain as well as shoring up the sector.

“This is the only way we would prove different to our competitors and also giving more ground in promoting Fiji and what we can do.”

Arrow Concrete and Engineering operations manager Daniel Lal said when he joined in October 2019 there was so much in the pipeline they had planned to do.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit not long since he started and they were getting hit left, right and center.

“We needed to start thinking outside the box and how best we can position ourselves for the long run.

“Being able to come under the Fijian Made emblem was something we needed to do, especially for the industry we are in.”

Mr Lal said now because of this achievement it has opened doors to export for them and as well as giving the company more boost.

“Now when people hear we are Fijian Made they will have more confidence in choosing us because it boosts Fiji.”

He added he was most grateful to the Ministry for such an opportunity.

“The team was very professional and helpful and did their due diligence well.

“It was an eye opener mainly in the sense that we never thought it would be possible to be able to achieve the guidelines that were expected for us to meet.”

The business will soon diversify into offering engineering services, home and garden supplies, pavers, retaining walls and pot plants to name a few.

With a likelihood to expand in Suva and securing a major distributor in Labasa.

Arrow Concrete products can be found in Nadro Hardware in Sigatoka, Gounders Timber in Tavua and Bhima’s Digging Works in Rakiraki.
