Adolf and Martha Johansson are preparing for a new assignment to lead the Australia Adelaide Mission.

Adolf and Martha Johansson have been called to be leaders in the Australia Adelaide Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Johanssons have been living in Fiji since 2014 where Adolf Johansson has worked as the Church’s Service Centre Manager and Leader-Member Support Co-ordinator.

He also served as an Area Seventy of the Church for several years, completing his assignment in October 2020.

“We are blessed and excited to be called to serve in the Australia Adelaide Mission, especially to serve alongside the wonderful youth of Zion in these latter days. We look forward to working together with the local members and leaders and with the wider community,” said Brother Johansson.

Brother Johansson was born in Tonga where missionary work changed his life.

“Missionaries serving in our village of Longomapu touched my heart by their teachings and Christlike examples and I later joined the Church in New Zealand. I always wanted to be just like them. As a convert to the Church, I know the eternal blessings that have come to our family from missionary service.”

Both of the Johansson’s have served missions for the Church – Adolf Johansson in the New Zealand Christchurch Mission and Martha Johansson in the Australia Brisbane Mission.

Two of their sons have served as well – James in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission and Hyrum in the Canada Vancouver Mission.

“Our approach to missionary service and leadership is to love and serve all people, by sharing the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with them,” said Sister Johansson.

“We will follow the direction of the Lord’s living Prophets and Apostles by using ‘Preach My Gospel’ missionary programme and by simply following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.”
