Bhawani Dayal Arya College’s top scorer for the Year 12 Certificate Examination last year has vowed to aim higher in the Year 13 Certificate Examination this year.

Arisha Kishore scored 387/400 and wants to become either a doctor or pilot.

The 18-year-old dedicated her achievement to her parents, who she said have instilled good values in her.

“My mother is not only my parent, but also a teacher,” she said.

“She is the head teacher in Saraswati Primary School, and she has always guided me in terms of academics and discipline.

“My parents have taught me to study hard and that inspired me to do well.”

Arisha said her grandmother, Nirmala Devi, had also supported her in studies and was there for her during difficult times.

“I could not do it without my family support and love they showed me. I love them so much,” she said.

She aims to score 390 plus this year.

Father, Nawal Kishore said: “She has been making us proud since primary school and has topped in her class from Year One.”
