State Of 3-Year-Old’s Body Makes Finding Cause Of Death Difficult: Police

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the condition of the body of three-year-old Karl Ratu made it challenging to determine the cause of his death..
“The cause of death could not be ascertained due to the state of the victim’s body,” she said.
“The file is being compiled and will be sent to the Chief of Intelligence and Investigations office where a decision will be made on the next course of action,” she said.
The late Karl Ratu’s partially decomposed body was discovered on Wednesday in Vatutavoi, Ba, by a woman catching crabs. He was later identified by his mother.
This was after a 14-day search by Police, family members and community members began on January 30 from Naqiroso Settlement in Velovelo, Lautoka, where three-year-old Karl was reported missing.
He was last seen at 2.30pm on January 30, accompanying family members go to the settlement seaside where a boat was stuck near the mangroves.
Jeanne Ratu, the mother of the late three-year-old said the funeral date was yet to be confirmed.
