Athletics Meet Strengthens Ties

We have our history tied in there, as we are known as the “luvedra na Ratu” so we honour that to the people of Noco.

Davuilevu Methodist High School, Nakasi High School and Noco Secondary School continue to strengthen their ties through sports.

Yesterday, the three schools had a combined interhouse meet at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.  They are all part of the Triple N zone (Nausori, Nasinu and Nakasi).

DMHS principal, Pranesh Kumar, said this was a great  “We are three small schools, and to give exposure to our students, this is the best way out,” he said.

“Because of the cost factor, we are sharing the cost with among the three schools.

“And by doing this we can at least bring the students to the tracks to know their times and distance jumped, in order to prepare well for the NNN zone and the Coca-Cola games.

“We will go back and look at our potential athletes and prepare them accordingly.”

DMHS brought a lone student in the 2019 games and targets to qualify five this year.

Nakasi High School principal, Praveen Chand, added that this combined interhouse had strenghend their bond with the other two achools.

He said: “Over the past three years we are trying to revive and have the relationship with the people of Rewa.

Davuilevu has a roll 120 students, Noco -130 and Nakasi High 250.

The Triple N zone meet is scheduled for March 11-12 while the Coca-Cola Games will be held on April 22-24 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
