A rising star for the Raiwasa Taveuni 7s team Iowane Tuiwaisale wants his own legacy and follow the pathway set by his big brother and Flying Fijians halfback Frank Lomani.

The 22 year old utility backline left his island home in Vanualevu last year making his first ever major sevens debut in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament as an exposure and experience with the Dominion Brothers 7s team.

The Raiwasa Taveuni winger was instrumental with his footworks and speed in the first Super Sevens Series in Lawaqa last month despite losing to Police Blue in the Cup final.

In an interview regarding his objectives as a player and a brother who has earned an overseas contract, Tuiwaisale said he is proud of his brother’s achievement but he wants to make a name for himself too.

“I want to create my own legacy and Frank has always been my role model,” he said.

“Participating in the Super Sevens Series is an opportunity to show the national 7s coach my calibre but its not by my own strength that i could achieve my goals.

“It comes with dedication, sacrifice, hardwork and trust in God and he will show you the way.

Tuiwaisale scored more than three tries in the first tourment and he is expected to create fireworks at Prince Charles Park in Nadi this weekend.

“It would be an honor to play alongside Frank in the future for Fiji but like i have to train hard and put God first in my journey.”

The Raiwasa Taveuni team leads Pool Two with Tabadamu, Wadigi Salvo and Eastern Saints.

The tournament will be held on Feburuary 19-20 at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Meanwhile Bukuya has been confirmed as the second wild card and 16th team to participate in the 2nd leg of the Super 7s Series at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Friday and Saturday.
