The children of Vuci Methodist Primary School cheered as the head prefects of the school were badged at the school in Nausori yesterday.

This showed the popularity the prefects had among the students.

Head boy Semi Kamikamica in his address said leadership was about taking responsibility and doing things together.

Semi said the prefects had important duties and were a very important part of the school system.

He said for him, the teachers in the school and his parents had been his pillars of strength.

Semi said he was going to do his best in carrying out the responsibilities he had sworn to.

He said he hoped that all school prefects will lead by example and work together to make this year memorable.

The prefects’ induction started around 10.30am. The school hall was filled with parents and family members.

A prayer to start things off and a prayer was said to finish the day.

More than 30 prefects were badged and there were special badges for the early childhood students.

It was also a special day for teacher, Laisa Vakadiwa. This would be her last year teaching.

She showed it in her love and affection for the students when she was asked to badge them.
