PM Congratulates School’s Topper

Viliame Waqasiwa is determined to achieve his goal to become a civil engineer after scoring the highest mark at Nadogo Central College in the Year 12 Certificate Examination.
Viliame aimed to score more than 300 marks and was happy when he got 365/400.
Year 12 marks:
– 86 per cent in English
– 95 per cent in Maths
– 90 per cent in Physics
– 94 per cent in Technical Drawing
– 67 per cent in Computer Studies
With maternal links to Nayarabale, the Vunivutu lad decided to sit for his two remaining exam papers despite being given the options not to.
He was excited to meet Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama who congratulated him on his achievement.
Mr Bainimarama handed over food rations for the 63 hostel students on his visit.
School Principal Ashok Kumar was thankful to the Government delegation for their support through the donations.
Mr Kumar said the faculty was aiming for a 100 per cent pass rate this year.
The school has a roll of 443.
Daku Primary School
At Daku Primary School in Nadogo, Macuata, a shy Atunaisa Rakoroi was filled with excitement when Mr Bainimarama walked into his classroom yesterday.
The Year 2 was having an English class with his classmates when Mr Bainimarama had a chat with the young lad who was too excited to speak.
Head teacher Sashi Kant said that the school pass rate has always been affected by the weather conditions but was hopeful to get better results this year.
Mr Bainimarama inspected the repairs done by the engineers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
