Court Denies Canadian $30m Drug Accused’s Bail Once Again

The High Court in Suva has once again denied the bail of a 24-year-old Canadian drug accused.

Joshua Aziz Rahman who was allegedly found in possession of cocaine appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar on Wednesday for his bail application.

Rahman faces one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

It is alleged that on February 14, 2019, in Caubati, Nasinu, Rahman was found in possession of 39.5 kilograms of cocaine.

The raid was conducted at his home where Police discovered 39 bars of white powder which later tested positive to be cocaine worth more than $30million.

The court heard that Rahman was arrested on February 12, 2019 and had been in custody since then.

Rahman was remanded in custody.
