New Boutique Offers Quality Plus-Sized Clothing For Women

The ‘Unique Hotshop Fiji’ is a fine example of how Fijians living abroad can invest in the country and contribute to the national economy.
An Australian-based Fijian couple Jovesa and Losalini Volaviola have opened the boutique at the De Vos on the Park, YWCA building, Suva.
The Volavolas said they were inspired to open their boutique by the financial difficulties brought in by the COVID-19 pandemic to their families.
“The company is operated by my family members as a way to give them something with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the economy right now,” she said.
“I wanted to also give back to the community by aiming to provide a good service.
“Doing this while maintaining affordable prices to help the citizens of Fiji have access to some of the things we are more than fortunate to grab our hands on overseas.”
Mrs Volavola said the boutique specialised in plus-sized women’s clothing as it was generally hard to find in this country.
“Pretty much giving the plus size women in Fiji a chance to grab something cute and affordable.”
She added the boutique will be giving out complimentary snacks for their customers every Thursday to encourage more customer and staff interaction.
Annemarie De Vos, Chief Executive Officer of De Vos on the Park said most of the vendors from the Suva Flea Market transferred to the building after their stations were destroyed in last year’s fire.
There are 46 small enterprises operating in the YWCA building.
