Police have launched investigations after complaints by Fiji Television Limited.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a suspect allegedly produced receipts to customers for purchases from the company but the service was never delivered.

It is alleged that on Friday one of the Fiji TV staff members was confirmed to have been instantly dismissed.

There are also allegations that another employee has been sent home for similar reasons.

Substantial sums of money have been alleged involved on a social media post. But this could not be confirmed.

There were claims that Fiji Football Association had attempted to get their dues paid from Fiji TV.

This led to Fiji TV’s claims that there were money issues.

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said: “We do not deal with third-party regarding our monetary transactions. We have no further comments.”

Several attempts made to get comments from Fiji Television’s general manager Sitiveni Halofaki were left unanswered.

It was said that he was in a meeting whole day.

A Fiji Sun journalist who went to Fiji TV was told Mr Halofaki was not available after he was told the visitor was from the Fiji Sun.
