Rugby World Cup 2023 To Be Extended By A Week

France 2023 and World Rugby, in concertation with International Rugby Players, have voted on the extension by one week of the Rugby World Cup 2023 match schedule.

Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place from the 8th of September to the 28th of October 2023. For the first time ever, all teams will be given a full 5 day rest period between games.

The extension by a week of the Rugby World Cup match schedule is a decisive step forward in preserving player welfare. With this in mind, the size of the squads has also been increased from 31 to 33 players.

Rugby World Cup France 2023 match schedule will be announced Friday 26th of February via live stream on the France 2023 Facebook page, as well as on our dedicated website.
